How OpenWater and SAML Work Together

How OpenWater and SAML work together

Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), specifically SAML 2.0 is the protocol of choice for large organizations, health care institutions, and universities. OpenWater supports SAML authentication.

FAQ

How does the integration work?
OpenWater’s login mechanism is replaced with your University / Organization login page. 2-Factor and other security measures you take will seamlessly work.

What APIs do you use?
We typically use an Identity Provider Initiated SAML workflow. We will provide you an Entity ID and a Service URL. You will provide us the login page along with the signing certificate. As an option Service Provider Initiated SAML is also supported. We can work with a custom list of assertions, however we typically require assertions for: First Name, Last Name, Email and Unique ID
